Ryda is a Ghana-based marketplace and on-demand delivery platform connecting passengers, vendors (food and shops), drivers, and couriers. This Acceptable Use Policy sets out what may and may not be listed, ordered, or transported on Ryda. It applies to every user of the platform — passengers, vendors, drivers, and couriers — and forms part of our Terms of Service.
1. Prohibited goods and services
The following categories may never be listed, ordered, or transported on Ryda:
- Firearms, ammunition, explosives, fireworks, and any weapon regulated under Ghanaian law.
- Illegal drugs, controlled substances, and drug paraphernalia.
- Prescription-only medicines dispensed without a licensed pharmacist.
- Alcohol or tobacco sold to anyone under 18, or by any vendor without the required licence.
- Counterfeit, replica, or trademark-infringing goods.
- Adult content, sexual services, and pornographic material.
- Live animals, wildlife products, ivory, and any item protected under CITES.
- Human remains, body parts, blood, or other biological materials.
- Hazardous materials: flammable liquids, corrosives, compressed gases, radioactive materials, poisons.
- Stolen goods or any item the seller does not have the right to sell.
- Currency, cheques, gift cards used as monetary instruments, and precious metals in bulk.
- Government-issued identity documents, passports, and licences.
- Items that require cold-chain handling Ryda cannot provide (e.g. vaccines, temperature-sensitive lab samples).
- Any product prohibited by Ghanaian law, the Food and Drugs Authority, or the Ghana Standards Authority.
2. Prohibited conduct
- Fraud, misrepresentation of identity, or use of another person's payment method.
- Attempting to move a Ryda transaction off-platform to avoid fees, taxes, or record-keeping.
- Money laundering, funding of illegal activity, or any transaction designed to disguise the source of funds.
- Harassment, threats, discrimination, hate speech, or unwanted contact towards any user.
- Account sharing, operating multiple accounts to evade limits, or creating an account on behalf of another person without their consent.
- Tampering with prices, ratings, reviews, or delivery status information.
- Using Ryda to solicit personal information from other users.
- Reverse engineering, scraping, or interfering with the Ryda platform.
3. Vendor obligations
- Hold and maintain a valid business registration and any category-specific licence (e.g. FDA licence for prepared food).
- Submit accurate KYC documents at onboarding: business registration, owner ID (Ghana Card or passport), and a storefront photo.
- Only list products the vendor legally owns and is authorised to sell.
- Fulfil orders accurately, in the condition described, and within the prep window shown to the customer.
- Comply with food-safety, hygiene, and packaging standards applicable to the product category.
- Respond promptly to customer questions and to Ryda's support team during dispute investigations.
- Keep KYC information current and notify Ryda of any change of ownership, address, or business status.
4. Driver and courier obligations
- Hold a valid driving licence and operate a roadworthy, registered vehicle.
- Complete Ryda's onboarding, including ID, licence, and vehicle verification.
- Never open, alter, or consume a customer's order.
- Decline to transport any item listed in Section 1.
- Follow all Ghana road-traffic laws.
5. Enforcement
Breaches of this policy are handled in proportion to their severity. Ryda may issue a warning, hide a listing, withhold payouts pending investigation, suspend an account, or permanently terminate access to the platform. Where required, we cooperate with law-enforcement agencies and regulators in Ghana.
6. Reporting a violation
If you believe a listing, user, or transaction violates this policy, contact us at support@rydas.online or use the "Report" option in the Ryda app. We investigate every report.
